First ask why the slab changed.
A useful assessment looks at the concrete condition, underlying support, drainage and whether movement is ongoing.
Repair
Localized damage may be repairable when the rest of the slab is sound. Ask about expected appearance and limits of the method.
Leveling
A sound panel that has settled may be a candidate for lifting. Ask whether voids or water problems can be corrected.
Replacement
Extensive deterioration, severe breakage or a need to change grade or design can support replacement. Ask how the new work addresses the original failure.
Structural concerns
Movement affecting a building foundation, walls or load-bearing parts needs an appropriate professional assessment. Do not assume a flatwork repair solves a structural issue.
